Electrohms (offers) support for all products in manufacture range at present and also provide customized products from the design stage to manufacture.

Why is a hall effect current sensor preferred over resistive shunt for measurement of direct electric current (Unidirectional current)?

The main disadvantages of using shunts are as follows
  • Low output voltage signal
  • High Power dissipation.
  • No galvanic isolation.

Advantages of using hall-effect current sensors are
  • Higher galvanic isolation can be achieved.
  • There is no voltage loss.
It can be used for both AC measurement and DC measurement.
