SSM/PVEM
The Solar string monitoring (SSM)assembly uses hall effect current sensors to provide measurement of string currents. The string currents measured are accessible over MODBUS through a RS-485 communication port by a central monitoring/SCADA software system. photo voltaic energy management (PVEM) uses HECT for monitoring the PV systems , Electrohms offers a Master and slave configuration that enables monitoring of 8 /12/24 channels in compact size.

The measured voltage, VP, is applied directly to the sensors primary connections through a resistor network followed by signal conditioning circuitry into a high isolation, precision optical amplifier stage. The isolated output is amplified through a precision linear circuit producing an output signal which is completely isolated from the primary and is an exact representation of the input voltage. The power conditioning circuits feeding the optical stage is designed with an even higher isolation to the signal circuitry to ensure adequate protection to the application power electronics

current sensors based on open loop Hall effect technology measure of direct, alternating and impulse currents, with galvanic isolation between the primary and secondary circuits The primary current lp flowing in the sensor creates a propotional primary magnetic flux. A Hall probe placed in the air gap of the magnetic circuit produces a hall voltage Vh which is proportional to this flux as well as the current Ip being measured. An electronic circuit amplifies this Hall voltage (Vh) allowing it to be directly utilised in the end application measurement circuit as a secondary output voltage Vs.The current sensor measures instantaneous values.
